Final results

We are pleased to announce the completion of the school photography contest titled "European Identity". The competition was organized by the Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Crete and the secondary cycle of the School of European Education – Heraklion, in cooperation with EuropeDirect – Crete.

We would like to thank the secondary schools of Crete, as well as the European schools for their participation in the competition and the warm support in our work. We are grateful to the jury members, Charles Weber (Photographer, Photography Professor, Switzerland), Richard Petit (Photographer, Photography Professor, France) and Polichronis Nikiforakis, (photographer, president of HPS Crete, Greece) for their contribution to the competition.

Congratulations to the winner, the selected photographers and to all the participants for the high quality of submitted photographs that made the task of the jury challenging and interesting.

According to the jury the final results and the selected photographers are:

All selected photographers will be included in a photographic exhibition themed “European Identity” (details will be announced shortly). The contest winner will additionally receive the contest prize, which is a Canon EOS 4000D camera including the Canon EF-S 18-55 DCIII lens.

Call for entries

New extended deadline for entries: Friday, 10th May 2019

The Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Crete and the secondary cycle of the School of European Education Heraklion (SEEH), in collaboration with the Europe Direct – Crete, are organizing a school photography contest, titled “European identity”.

The contest is addressed to the students of the secondary cycle of the European Schools and Accredited European Schools, as well as to students of the secondary schools that pertain to the Regional Directorate of Education of Crete.

Awards & benefits:

  • Up to nine finalists will be shortlisted. Selected photographs from the finalists will be included in an exhibition titled “European identity”, organized by SEEH, in the city of Heraklion.

  • The contest jury will select one winner among the nine finalists. The winner will receive: A Canon 4000D digital camera with the Canon EF-S 18-55mm DC III lens included. The winner’s prize is provided by Europe Direct – Crete.
